Environmental policy
Synergy Fine Colour Printers recognises the importance of effective management of the environment to the sustainability of its business, to the well-being of its employees and its responsibilities to the community and its clients. Synergy Fine Colour Printers is committed to continual improvement in all areas of environmental management and to the prevention of pollution. This policy is a priority matter for our business and should be communicated to all of the stakeholders in our business.
The Managing Director of Synergy Fine Colour Printers is responsible for implementation of the environmental policy. The executive responsibility will be supported by a management and consultation structure which will involve the participation of functional specialists, employee representatives, suppliers, external consultants and clients. The Production Director has overall responsibility for the day-to-day management of environmental issues, reporting directly to the board of Synergy Fine Colour Printers.
The company operates an Environmental Management System which conforms to the requirements of ISO 14001:2004 and aspects specific to the provision of pre-press, printing, finishing and despatch.
This will be achieved by:
- Complying with all relevant legislation and other requirements to which the company subscribes
- Developing standards which will meet and exceed client requirements
- Improving our environmental performance through an ongoing commitment to managing our significant environmental aspects
- Incorporating environmental issues and objectives into our business decision-making processes
- Consulting with stakeholders on our environmental performance
- Reviewing the environmental policies and practices of our main suppliers
- Introducing environmental criteria into the selection and evaluation of suppliers
- Communicating information on our policies, objectives and plans to employees and other stakeholders
- Providing training and development in order to improve awareness, participation and delivery of environmental policies and objectives
- Promoting the efficient use of resources throughout the company’s operations
The policies for improving our environmental performance will apply to all areas of our business and will be reinforced through our management accountability structure. The success of these initiatives will be monitored by the Board.
All policies will be reviewed regularly and changed where necessary to align with developments in legislation, industry standards and best practice.
